I was skeptical since I had used a Voice PE previously and was unimpressed by it. The Satellite1 is miles ahead

I'm a newbie to Home Assistant and voice control is a key requirement for me so I was keen to start experimenting.

I can see that I have a lot to learn but I'm looking forward to the challenge. The Satellite 1 looks like the device for my journey. It's well made and the 3D housing models are great.

Excellent product, worked flawlessly

What can I say. I saw the early stages of this whole project, and I was hooked from the start. Yes, it did take ages to arrive in the UK. (Thanks Customs!!) But it's here, and it's been worth the wait. I'm not a tech genius, but I do like to make the house do things without me having to leave the sofa. The set-up is an absolute breeze, IF you follow them. Don't rush like it did, only to realise you might have just connected things the wrong way round. But the incredible support was at hand to allow me to admit I was being a numpty. (So grateful support 6*s). There is some assembly and ideally a 3d printer, but that's half the joy. It's like Lego, but for smart homes. But seriously, IF you are looking for a solution to allow you to microwave your Alexa devices, then you need to seriously consider this option and and join the journey to a future proof home.

Great solution for voice aassistant in HA. It will be the best solution when we'll have an option to output the sound on another media_player/smart speaker like Sonos. Thanks for this device and keep up the good work.

The Satellite 1 core board is well built and functioned exactly as expected. I have been testing them (2 devices) for almost 3 weeks without issue. If you are interested in a self contained voice assistant, this is the easiest game in town!

This is an incredible piece of work! Very well done. It's great to build an enclosure that fits just the way you wanted it. And, of course, the best part is the seamless integration of voice and music. It works really well with Home Assistant. Great job!

This dev kit is great. Works well and setup is easy. You have a great road map and I cannot wait to try out the rest of the products you are working on. Additionally, the squircle enclosure is extremely well designed. Prints perfectly without supports and assembled exactly as expected! I have my second dev kit on pre-order. :)

I’ve had a Satellite 1 for a few months and I love it. It brings Home Assistant to life and with ChatGPT in your voice pipeline, makes it more than just a voice control. It becomes conversational and brings the entire knowledge of the internet to you without a phone or a laptop. The new enclosures and Nexus take all of this goodness to the next level. And the sound is SO much better than the Voice PE. Why send your data to the cloud? Get a Satellite 1 and stay in control.

I've been desperate to get away from Google Home for a couple years now as the service has degraded and stagnated. If you use Home Assistant you are already aware of what real home automation feels like. The Satellite 1 is what you were hoping the Voice PE from Nabu Casa would be. Easy to set up, full featured, and enough power from the onboard amplifier to push some serious sound through whatever speaker you pick. I'm looking forward to when they offer a factory-made enclosure that is engineered to get the best audio performance from the suggested speaker. For now, the 3d printed enclosure does good enough.

Buy one and play around with it. I'm just using Google cloud services right now for the TTS, STT, and LLM (strange how it works better on the Sat1 than on the Google Home devices), but I'm looking forward to when FPH puts out a model specifically trained to work with Home Assistant.

Sat1 really has a LOT of potential! With NVIDIA and others announcing Home AI Hardware, as well as the Nexus box coming out from FutureProofHomes, Satellite1 becomes the first cloudless, mass-market potential add-on to Home Assistant (and whatever else you want to integrate it with). Everything is customizable, with a very decent built-in firmware, too, for those who want a product instead of a DevKit.

This board has opened so many doors for me to explore AI. It's great as is for AI / Smart Home enthusiasts, and a must for every room once stable!
