Build the Satellite1 Together
I couldn't find a YouTube tutorial on how to mount the external Wi-Fi antenna. But Google AI helped me.
The hardware is great, the integration with home assistant is great. I've bought 4 now!
I know its beta DIY but it's been working good. There are a lot of problems but its on the HA/MA side as nothing seems to be immune ;) The sound for music is great. It's better than my echo's and I love having the control of playing local plex music or spotify.
Actually really enjoyed the process of getting my dev kit assembled. At first, the overall process was intimidating when I looked at all the pieces in the box, but after going through all the documentation, it was pretty fun and easy.
The voice commands are super fast and responsive, which is awesome. The only reason it is not a five-star review is that the sound quality is just not as good as comparable-size Sonos speakers. Otherwise, I would love to do a full transition away from Sonos to these.
After receiving the replacement Dev Kit, which actualy worked, I must say that I am happy with the product.
